About Us:

Next Level Up, LLC is dedicated to empowering students through academic and emotional support, fostering both academic and personal growth. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Tutor to work one-on-one and in small groups with students ranging from kindergarten to high school in Colorado Springs. This role combines academic tutoring with therapeutic skills, including emotional regulation, coping strategies, stress management, and focus techniques to support students' overall well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

Individualized Instruction:

  • Provide tailored one-on-one tutoring to students in various subjects, focusing on their specific academic and emotional needs.
  • Implement therapeutic techniques to help students manage frustration, reduce anxiety, and regulate emotions during their studies.
  • Utilize mindfulness and focus strategies to enhance concentration and learning outcomes.

Small Group Sessions:

  • Conduct engaging and interactive small-group tutoring sessions to enhance students' understanding and collaboration skills.
  • Facilitate group activities that promote emotional and social development.

Subject Expertise:

  • Cover a range of subjects, including but not limited to mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies.
  • Integrate emotional regulation strategies within academic instruction.

Assessment:

  • Assess students' progress, identify areas of improvement, and develop customized lesson plans to address weaknesses.
  • Monitor and adjust emotional support strategies based on students' needs.

Homework Support:

  • Assist students with their homework assignments, reinforcing classroom learning and promoting self-reliance.
  • Provide guidance on managing stress and frustration related to homework.

Study Skills:

  • Teach effective study strategies and time management techniques to enhance students' academic performance.
  • Include techniques for emotional regulation within study skills instruction.

Communication:

  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians to provide updates on students' progress and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with parents to support students' emotional and academic development at home.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience with students of varying age groups.
  • Strong knowledge of educational principles and curriculum standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Flexible scheduling for part-time evening and weekend sessions.
