Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position with strong cardiac skills and Epic charting experience required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• This position is in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) and Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Unit (CVIMCU) of a hospital
• Cares for patients aged 16 and older with primary cardiac diagnoses, including post-cardiac arrest, heart failure, and post-cardiothoracic surgeries
• The blended unit includes 18 CVICU and 12 CVIMCU beds, totaling 30 specialized cardiac care beds
• Patient cases involve procedures such as IABP therapy, Impella insertion, CABG, valve repair, ablations, STEMI/NSTEMI, and ventricular assist devices
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 to 19:30, with a minimum of 13 weeks and 48 hours per week
• Constant floating between ICU, CVICU, and PCU units is required, including floating to sister hospitals within 15 minutes distance
• Epic EMR is used and Epic experience is required
• Responsibilities include providing advanced cardiac care, operating specialized devices, and monitoring complex cardiovascular patients
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• COVID-19 vaccination is required with no exemptions accepted
• Strict rules apply for requested time off (RTO) and no block scheduling is permitted
• Return staff must have a six-month break in service before reapplying as a traveler
• Non-billable orientation modules are required before starting and annually thereafter
• Scrubs/dress code information not specified; inquire during onboarding
• Local and travel candidates are accepted at the same pay rates

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active Oregon RN license is required
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required
• Minimum of 2 years recent CVICU, ICU, or Telemetry experience
• Strong cardiovascular and telemetry nursing skills required
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• CCRN certification is preferred
