Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the middle school level, focusing on an inclusive classroom setting. This full-semester contract role will involve managing a caseload of 15 to 35 students, with the current number at 15. The primary disabilities served include Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), Emotional Disabilities (ED), Speech or Language Impairments (SLI), and Orthopedic Impairments (OI).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to student needs within an inclusion classroom environment.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning profiles.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive educational practices.
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet educational goals.
• Maintain detailed records and participate in team meetings concerning student development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Professional Educator License (PED) specific to special educationmandatory for consideration.
• Experience working with middle school students in special education settings.
• Knowledge of strategies to support students with disabilities such as SLD, OHI, ED, SLI, and OI.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues and families.
• Ability to manage caseload and adapt instruction to the varying needs of students.

Location:

• Position is based in Estancia, NM, at a middle school within the district.

Additional Information:

• Full-time hours of 37.5 per week.
• Contract lasts for one full semester.
