Product Owner, Central Image Service (Consultant)

The Product Owner, Central Image Service is responsible for leading the development of a centralized image service platform, primarily built on AWS Health Imaging. This platform supports the secure import, storage, access, and transmission of various image types including both DICOM and non-DICOM images for various functional areas. The role is embedded within the Data and Insight Engineering Hub and interfaces with a variety of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Platform Development Oversight: Work with Business Stakeholders and Industry best practices to drive the vision and roadmap for the Central Image Service product using Agile solution delivery. Collaborate with Product Manager to deliver on roadmap milestones.
• Backlog Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to flesh out the capability backlog including related priorities and dependencies. Ensure that the backlog is properly maintained.
• Requirements: Define requirements through User Stories and Acceptance Criteria ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and customer expectations.
• Access Control Strategy: Evaluate and implement access control mechanisms for fine-grained access control to the data stores.
• Compliance & Governance: Address compliance issues related to image storage, copyright, and informed consent. Ensure traceability and secure data sharing practices as well as inspection readiness.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with tech leads, solution architects, and testers to align delivery with business needs. Act as a liaison between engineering and stakeholders.
• Prioritization and Delivery: The product owner is expected to manage conflicting priorities and, working with the Product Lead, ensure foundational capabilities are delivered in time for business demand.

Qualifications

• Background in DICOM and non-DICOM image management, type conversion, and processing
• Experience with providing a central service, collaborating with disparate stakeholders, and reconciling priority conflicts
• Exposure to image analysis projects and associated imaging needs
• Product Owner experience
• Agile, Scrum, Jira experience
