FIND OUT ABOUT THIS ROLE AND OUR MISSION TO CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE

The Crisis Intervention Manager serves as a key resource for responding to critical incidents, such as crises, emergencies, and natural disasters. Working in collaboration with Plymouth’s Safety Management Team and community partners, the Crisis Intervention Manager helps to develop-, coordinate, implement and evaluate Plymouth’s critical response plans, policies, and procedures to improve prevention, preparedness and continuity of vital operations and services. With a strong understanding of the mental health system and intervention strategies, the Crisis Intervention Manager provides practical and sound guidance, consultation, and assistance to Plymouth’s Safety program.

Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, Plymouth is helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever. At Plymouth, we’re not simply trying to get people off the streets. We provide supportive services like case management and health care so that our residents can thrive long-term. As part of our strategic vision, we are building internal behavioral health services and transforming our systems to address rapid growth and the changing needs of residents.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSING

  • Monitor compliance with established standards.
  • Support the Safety team by responding to critical incidents (e.g., crises, emergencies, natural disasters) by providing direct intervention, triage, and stabilization services in-person and/or by phone.
  • Participate actively in an after-hours on-call rotation to address crisis situations and safety needs.
  • Serve as in-house de-escalation expert.
  • Support staff as a first responder by providing guidance, consultation, and assistance directly after a traumatic event or crisis.
  • Maintain the respect and dignity of each affected individual, being attentive to special population concerns and conducting wellness checks as needed.
  • Demonstrate effective skills in case investigation, evaluation, and integration of facts, and recommendations that lead to informed decision-making.
  • Perform After Action Reviews post-incident as part of Plymouth’s response protocol.
  • Manage the critical incident debrief process, including data collection, tracking, and reporting.
  • Provide updates to leadership and recommendations for improvements.
  • Manage and monitor the Violent Incident Report (VIR) system, adjusting the rating system as needed and ensuring staff orientation to the system. Provide outreach to staff who experience a VIR 2, VIR 3, or take traumatic event leave.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of information.
  • Coordinate with Facilities and IT departments for Security programs and procedures.
  • Supervise and maintain training of the Plymouth Safety Ambassador program.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Participate as a contributing member of the Crisis Management Team and Safety Committee.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
