Vertex Co-op Program

The Vertex Co-op Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. Job Summary

HEME Logistics facilitates the execution of end-to-end material movements in a timely manner while managing & monitoring temperature (cold chain), security and trade compliance for the Commercial Casgevy and clinical support studies.

The Intern/Co-op position would focus on a data scrub of current Trade Management system inputs. In parallel, they would conduct E2E interviews with the appropriate operation SMEs to build a timeline of shipment activities for all related Cell Gene and Therapy materials. IF time allows, this individual could liaison with Validation team to learn how a commercial packaging system is brought into a filing application (BLA).

Key Responsibilities

Day to Day:

• Conduct interviews with key stakeholders inside and outside the logistics operations.
• Shadow team members to lean D2D operations.

Projects:

• The Intern/Co-op position would create and execute an internal pulse survey on Logistics performance and customer satisfaction survey for external vendors. Gather data and create PowerPoint presentation output from data.
• The Intern/Co-op position would focus on a data scrub of current Trade Management system inputs. In parallel, they would conduct E2E interviews with the appropriate operation SME's to build a timeline of shipment activities for all related Cell Gene and Therapy materials.
• This individual could liaison with the Validation team to learn how a commercial packaging system is brought into a filing application (BLA).

Qualifications

• Uses judgment to solve basic problems
• Displays ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
• Possesses organization skills, and written and verbal communication skills
• Possesses ability to work under moderate supervision and in a team setting
• Detail oriented
• Exposure to working within or coordinating projects/teams
• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, business or related discipline
• Typically requires 1 year of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
• Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before July 2025
• Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July - December 2025

Pay Range 20.00 35.00 USD/hour

The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
