\n\nJob Description\n

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for individuals and families in their care, and is accountable for compliance with nursing standards and professional development, following the New York State Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
\n
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
\n
• Administer medications safely in accordance with policies.
\n
• Participate in resource utilization and productivity efforts.
\n
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education.
\n
• Support a learning environment for new employees and students.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• Current NYS RN License.
\n
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
\n
• Five or more years of medical/surgical nursing experience.
\n
• Experience with common diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, AKI, and osteomyelitis.
\n
