Job Description & RequirementsShift:\n\nNights, 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)\n\nStaffing ratio: 1:1–2\n\nScrub color: Navy Blue\n\nJob Summary:\n\nCVICU RN – 2.5 years of CVICU experience required (within the last 6 months)\n\nFirst-time travelers accepted with strong experience\n\nPerm candidates from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) eligible if separated ≥3 months\n\nActive compact licenses honored at all Swedish facilities\n\nPatient Diagnoses / Procedures:\n\nCardiovascular disease, pre/post Cath Lab and IR procedures, fresh open-heart surgery\n\nCABG, AAA, valvular repairs, TAVI/TAVR\n\nIABP, Impella, VADs, pacemaker management\n\nCRRT/Dialysis, ECMO\n\nHemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management (including high-frequency vents), CPAP/BiPAP, trach care\n\nProcedural sedation, rapid sequence intubation, blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation\n\nUnit / Staffing:\n\nSurgical ICU and Neuro ICU\n\nUnit has unseasoned staff—strong travelers required\n\nPost-cardiac surgery care (direct from OR and not directly from OR)\n\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n\nCardiovascular: ECMO, TAVI/TAVR, IABP, post-cardiac surgery care\n\nEndocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols\n\nRenal: CVVHD/CRRT, chronic/acute renal failure\n\nIV Therapy: Central line, PICC line, arterial line, ports, starting IVs, blood product administration\n\nMedications: Continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips\n\nRespiratory/Thoracic: Chest tube care, ventilator management, HFNC, ABG interpretation\n\nNeurological: Hypothermia protocols, CVA/acute stroke management\n\nProfessional: Infection prevention, isolation precautions, surgical wounds with drains/Wound Vac\n\nCharting: EPIC preferred\n\nCertifications Required:\n\nACLS, BLS, CRRT (Prismaflex)\n\nOrientation:\n\n3 days; validated skills for select competencies
