SimpleCITI Companies — Hiring for Real Estate Tax Preparer
SimpleCITI is hiring a Real Estate Tax Preparer to manage the preparation and filing of property tax returns across a growing commercial and industrial portfolio. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial & Tax Officer (CFTO) and plays a critical part in ensuring tax compliance, reducing liabilities, and supporting strategic tax planning. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Yardi and CCH, a grasp of real estate tax regulations, and the ability to meet deadlines with precision.
Core Responsibilities:
• Prepare and file real estate property tax returns
• Manage property tax schedules, calendars, and payment processing
• Reconcile assessments, tax bills, and abatements across the portfolio
• Maintain and utilize CCH and Yardi for tax documentation, tracking, and compliance
• Assist in audits, appeals, and tax hearings as needed
• Identify opportunities for assessment reductions and tax savings
• Coordinate with internal departments and third-party consultants
• Support the CFTO with tax forecasts, accruals, and reporting
• Stay current on relevant property tax law and compliance requirements
Requirements
• 2–5 years of experience in real estate tax preparation and filing
• Strong understanding of commercial real estate tax processes and deadlines
• Proficient with Yardi and CCH tax software
• Experience preparing and filing real estate property tax returns
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-focused
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience with industrial and commercial property portfolios preferred
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the CFTO and finance team
