Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2025-2026 school year in an elementary school setting, serving students from Kindergarten through 4th grade. This contract role runs from ASAP through June 2026 and requires prior school experience. Located in Hartford, CT, this opportunity offers a caseload focused on supporting elementary students in a dual-language environment (Spanish and English proficiency is a plus).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for K-4 students with special needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt instructional materials
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration to promote student success
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience working in a school setting, preferably with elementary-aged students
  • Ability to manage a full caseload in a structured environment
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are highly desirable
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
