Civil Engineer This role involves leading and supporting solid waste management infrastructure projects such as landfills, recycling facilities, transfer stations and related civil works. Responsibilities Lead and manage solid waste facility projects from planning and design through construction, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with regulatory requirements. Develop detailed civil site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, drainage and utility layouts in alignment with project goals and permitting standards. Prepare high‑quality engineering reports, technical specifications, cost estimates and bidding documents tailored to client and project needs. Coordinate directly with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors and multidisciplinary internal teams to facilitate project approvals and successful execution. Oversee construction‑phase services including monitoring field activities, reviewing submittals and ensuring conformance with design plans and specifications. Effectively manage project timelines, budgets, deliverables and client expectations to achieve scope, schedule and financial targets. Serve as a mentor and technical resource to junior engineering staff, supporting their development and promoting a collaborative team environment. Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposal preparation, interviews and presentations while maintaining and growing relations with existing and prospective clients. Apply company and industry best practices in engineering design documentation and project delivery. Exercise sound engineering judgment and consistently demonstrate initiative, accountability and technical leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required; Master’s degree a plus. Minimum of 8 years of progressive civil engineering experience, with strong emphasis and background in solid waste management a plus. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Idaho or Washington, or the ability to obtain within six months of employment. Proven ability to lead and manage projects, including scope, schedule and budget oversight. Proficiency in solid waste engineering design; AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred. Strong understanding of engineering principles with the ability to apply them effectively to real‑world challenges. Demonstrated experience working with municipalities or public entities to address solid waste infrastructure and environmental compliance. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with a commitment to mentoring and supporting team development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports, present findings and engage with clients. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
