See yourself at Twilio Join the team as Twilios next Software Engineer (L2). About the job This position is needed to build the future of APIs and Developer Experiences on Twilios Edge. At Twilios Edge Proxy team, we manage a high-availability, low-latency proxy that processes Twilios inbound REST API traffic over 12 billion API requests a week with exceptionally high uptime, availability, and success rates. We are looking for a Software Engineer to help create a system that will enable teams to build developer friendly, scalable, and resilient APIs without friction. Responsibilities In this role, youll: Design, build, and maintain massively scalable, highly reliable and resilient Java services in a fast growing and engineering focused company Design and build scalable and segregated infrastructure deployment systems using Terraform, AWS, and Docker Contribute towards incident troubleshooting, remediation, and prevention efforts of high scale, mission critical software systems. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table! *Required: 3-5 years experience in software engineering, working on distributed systems at scale Prior experience with RESTful API design and development Prior experience supporting production applications using observability metrics and tools (such as DataDog) Prior experience developing in a CI/CD environment using tools such as Build Kite, Jenkins, Travis CI, or others Strong understanding of network protocols such and WebSockets Experience with Cloud Technologies, especially AWS Strong verbal and written communication skills Desired: Experience building and troubleshooting Java based applications Knowledge of Terraform, or other infrastructure as code framework Experience using Docker containers in production environments with Kubernetes Location This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings. Compensation *Please note this role is open to candidates outside of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Washington State. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only. The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows: Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : 114,600 - 143,300. Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $121,400 - $151,700. Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $134,800 - $168,500. This role may be eligible to participate in Twilios equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave. The successful candidates starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
