In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, the Senior Clinical Specialist works under general direction to provide advanced engineering, sales, educational and technical support in response to complex field inquiries from physicians, healthcare professionals, patients, and field sales staff involving EP products. The role involves a high degree of independence, using effective and cost-efficient business practices, and exercising independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing work. The specialist acts as a senior clinical interface between the medical community and the business, building credible business relationships and sharing product expertise. Responsibilities include identifying customer needs, advising on product performance and sales opportunities, providing clinical support for complex inquiries, leading trainings on EP products, providing regional procedural case coverage, supporting sales and training seminars, mentoring less experienced Clinical Specialists, and staying current on industry developments and regulatory requirements. The role requires a minimum of 1 year in the previous position, at least 3 years of clinical experience, IBHRE EP certification, and the ability to perform complex cases solo and mentor others. The position requires travel up to 50% of the time and compliance with vendor credentialing requirements including COVID-19 vaccination unless accommodation is requested.
