Seadog Docent/ Actor - Chicago City Experiences Join to apply for the Seadog Docent/ Actor - Chicago City Experiences role at Hornblower Group Pay $17.00/hr City Experiences is seeking a Seadog Docent for our City Cruises operation in Chicago, IL. About You This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System. About The Opportunity The successful Seadog Docent is responsible for delivering informational and entertaining tours to groups of 10-150 people, ensuring guest comfort and safety while underway, and assisting with docking and undocking. Docents must uphold the strictest safety standards for guests and crew, while maintaining a professional and friendly manner consistent with Our Service System and assisting with docking and undocking. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in our RESPECT service system Follow safety procedures to ensure the protection of passengers and vessel Participate in routine safety drills to prepare for major incidents Handle lines to moor vessels to pier Stand watch in ships' bows, sterns, or bridge wings to look for obstructions or navigational aids Assist Captain and supervisory personnel in maintaining vessel equipment and systems Maintain cleanliness and safety of all common areas Sweep, mop, and wash down decks and exterior to remove dirt and debris Load or unload materials from vessels; gather and remove trash Service, clean, and supply restrooms Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time Maintain uniform and personal grooming standards Provide courteous customer service regarding the sale of liquor and observe related regulations Stock carts between cruises and handle inventory Additional duties as assigned Requirements & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Must be at least 18 years old Pre-employment and ongoing random drug testing required US Citizen or Permanent Resident per US Coast Guard regulations Satisfactory background check Effective written and verbal communication skills Service-oriented mindset Energetic and enthusiastic personality Ability to work extended periods standing Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to throw mooring lines from ship to pier Normal color vision for interpreting navigational lights and safety displays Possibly required to apply for a Transportation Workers ID Card Availability to work on major holidays About Us City Experiences provides memorable land and water experiences, with over 25 brands welcoming 30 million guests annually.
