Sign Language Interpreter

ProCare Therapy is working with a local school district to hire a qualified American Sign Language Interpreter to support studentsfor the upcoming 20252026 school year.
Those employed for the available positions will serve as a contract worker. All pay, benefits, human resources claims, etc. will be overseen by the ProCare Therapy support staff.

Candidate Qualifications:
Certification as aSLI Educator andSign Language Interpreter (RID or 3.5 EIPA)
Active Louisiana DOE certification
Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Previous experience interpreting in educational settings.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals

Monday-Friday; normal school hours
Job Responsibilities:
Provide interpretation services for the student across all classes and school activities
Collaborate with teachers and staff to understand and facilitate the students educational needs
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
Attend faculty meetings and participate in relevant training as required
Support the development of social and academic skills through effective communication
Interview Specifics:
Applicants will go through an informal prescreening process with recruiters at ProCare Therapy to ensure qualifications are met.
Applicants will be interviewed by the school or district department lead. The interview is typically a 30 minute Zoom call.
The school/district may request a second interview where the applicant comes to campus.
In conjunction with the school/district, ProCare Therapy will offer qualified candidates the position and begin the onboarding process.
