We’re seeking a highly skilled Clinical Documentation Specialist (RN) to join our team remotely. This is a contract opportunity for a motivated nurse with a strong background in clinical documentation integrity and a passion for improving patient outcomes through accurate medical recordkeeping. You’ll play a key role in bridging clinical care and coding, ensuring documentation reflects the true acuity of each patient.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• ASN required; BSN preferred

• Active RN license (required upon hire)

• 2–3 years of Clinical Documentation Integrity experience in an acute care setting

Preferred Experience:

• 5 years of hospital experience in ICU, ED, or Med-Surg

• 1 year of MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignment experience or strong understanding of DRG fundamentals

• 1 year of ICD-10 experience or equivalent understanding

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant documentation

• Collaborate with providers through the query process to improve documentation quality

• Partner with coding teams to support accurate ICD-10 and DRG assignment

• Lead documentation improvement initiatives and build dashboards/reports

• Independently manage provider education and performance insights

• Ensure clinical documentation supports appropriate reimbursement and reflects true patient acuity

• Interpret and apply CMS guidelines, organizational policies, and procedures

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
