Position Overview: Lactation Consultant – RN (LDRP)Location: Our Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63128
Status: PRN (As Needed)
Role SummaryThis position entails assessing, identifying issues, and providing solutions for patient and staff education regarding breastfeeding. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the lactation education program, with a focus on antepartum, postpartum, nurseries, and outpatient clientele.
Required QualificationsEducation: A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory, along with specialized training or completion of a relevant internship.
Licensure: A current RN license or RN Temporary Permit in the State of Missouri is required.
Experience: A minimum of 2–3 years of relevant professional experience is necessary.
Certifications: Lactation education certification is essential.
Education: An advanced degree or additional relevant coursework is preferred.
Licensure: Additional or multi-state licensure is advantageous.
Experience: Previous experience in lactation support or a related specialty is preferred.
Certifications: Additional certifications in maternal-child health or lactation consulting are preferred.
Other: Strong communication abilities, a collaborative spirit in a multidisciplinary team, and a dedication to patient-centered care are essential.
