Shift: 7:00 AM TO 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: USD 20.00–23.00

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

The client is currently looking for a Quality Inspector to join our Quality Department. The client is a producer of high-quality products used in the Aerospace, Defense, and other related industries. Your role will be to inspect our products for material defects and grade of workmanship using visual, mechanical, dimensional, and functional inspection techniques. Inspections occur throughout our process, from raw material to final inspection of finished goods.

Job Description:

Perform inspection per established quality requirements. Record inspection results as necessary by using characteristics sheets and other log sheets. Ensure ongoing ISO/AS compliance and provide continuous improvement input. Work in team oriented activities and interface with quality, manufacturing and design engineering teams as well as other organizations, in order to achieve inspection and Quality Clinic goals. Support TPM/5S objectives to optimize quality assurance area goals. Adhere to all established safety requirements and policies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all activities involving quality inspections per approved procedures

• Initiate nonconformance material reports (CARE/NCMR)

• Performs all aspects of testing related to manufacturing

• In-process release inspection

• Final inspection / QA release of finished goods

• Ensures that all inspections and procedures are properly completed and documented following GDP practices

• Responsible for generating Certificates of Conformance (CoC)

• Reads and understands written instructions such as QMS's, OCN's, SOP's, and basic blueprint drawings

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

• Adhere to all safety guidlines, follow the hourly ergonomic stretches, and properly use required PPM

May also include:

• Incoming inspections

• First article inspections

• CMM Certification preferred

• GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009)

• Daily overtime (daily and/or weekend)

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Employee must have the ability to:

• Grasp or manipulate objects with one or both hands

• Stand, walk, sit, use office equipment, and lift up to 25 pounds in the course of normal duties

• See details at close range (near vision/color) - Annual eye exam required

• Be teachable, flexible, cooperative, and dependable

Tools Used:

• Personal computer and software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Trackwise, Oracle/Agile, etc.)

• Standard office equipment, such as telephone, copier, fax, calculator, and others as required

• Inspection measurement equipment: calipers, gauges, micrometers, indicators, etc.

• Inspection equipment may also include: CMM and related software, optical comparator, spring tester, etc.

Job Requirements:

A successful candidate must :

• US Citizenship/or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Have excellent communication skills

• Have basic Microsoft Office data entry skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

• 3 or more years Quality Inspector experience (preferred)

• Knowledge of mechanical inspection tools, calipers, micrometers, comparators, indicators, surface plate, thread gage and other common inspection tools.

• Proficiency and understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.

• Basic understanding of aerospace quality management systems.

• Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001, GD&T, SPC, FMEA, and other related industry standards

A preferred candidate will have:

• 3 or more years Quality Inspector experience

• Technical training courses in a related field or the equivalent in prior work experience

• Experience working with CMM

• Experience programming of Mitutoyo CMM with MCOSMOS software

• Experience with electromechanical sensors and systems

• Worked or trained in a world-class manufacturing environment familiar with Lean and Six Sigma activities

• ASQ Certification as a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, or Quality Process Analyst
