Job Description

We’re looking for a Licensed Landscape Architect to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will contribute to the full project lifecycle—from site analysis and conceptual design through construction documentation and administration. You'll collaborate with landscape architects, engineers, architects, and designers on a wide variety of public and private projects.

What You'll Do

Design & Project Support

  • Assist in site analysis, schematic design, and development of construction documents.

  • Support senior staff with research, documentation, and design production.

  • Create compelling visual presentations and conceptual models.

  • Conduct site visits and observe construction to ensure design intent is met.

  • Prepare graphics for reports, presentations, and public engagement.

Leadership & Project Management

  • Lead or support pursuit efforts for new work, including proposals, interviews, and strategic planning.

  • Serve as a design lead or Principal-in-Charge for select projects or practice areas.

  • Assign, manage, and mentor staff working on your projects.

  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure success.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve design and performance challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and follow comprehensive project work plans and staffing assignments.

  • Monitor project progress and performance metrics (schedule, budget, quality).

  • Ensure compliance with internal quality control standards (QMS).

  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships and satisfaction.

  • Support the financial success of projects through proactive planning and communication.

  • Routinely check in on client satisfaction and adjust project delivery as needed.

  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff and emerging professionals.

What You Bring

  • BLA or BSLA from an LAAB-accredited Landscape Architecture program

  • Licensed Landscape Architect (or the ability to become licensed in your state)

  • 3–10+ years of relevant experience preferred

  • Experience with public and/or private sector landscape projects

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders

  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset

Software & Technical Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD

  • Familiarity with or interest in:

    • LandFX , SketchUp , Photoshop , 3ds Max , Rhino , Lumion

    • Adobe Creative Suite

  • GIS or modeling experience a plus

Physical & Field Requirements

  • Work at a computer for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to walk on uneven terrain, steep slopes, and in varying weather

  • Occasional fieldwork may include:

    • Digging, squatting, pounding stakes/rebar monuments

    • Using brush-cutting or surveying equipment

    • Driving a survey vehicle
