Where This Role Sits

The Head of Storytelling & Communications leads the third pillar of CELA (Corporate, External & Legal Affairs). CELA combines Government & Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and Storytelling & Communications to open markets, shape rules, and turn trust into traction.

Role Overview

Build and lead storytelling & communications for CELA, turning complex policy and payments infrastructure into clear, credible narratives that build trust, enable merchants, influence regulators, attract investors, and align the team and board around a shared story.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve Forages master story, translating policy, payment, and benefit rail details into simple, compelling narratives for merchants, policymakers, advocates, and investors.
• Ensure message discipline across CELA, Marketing, and GTM teams.
• Build and execute media and PR strategy, manage agencies, maintain journalist relationships, and create thoughtleadership content such as opeds, bylines, conference talks, podcasts, and panels.
• Partner with Marketing to produce content across the site, blog, and social media (especially LinkedIn) that showcases merchant success, policy wins, product launches, and human impact.
• Elevate executive and board communicationskeynotes, town halls, board decks, major announcementsturning strategy and metrics into clear, actionable stories.
• Design internal communications rhythms that keep everyone aligned on priorities and progress without noise, supporting HR initiatives and celebrating wins that move the needle.
• Develop practical playbooks and workflows for launches, announcements, and issue responses, and define key communications metrics that guide focus.

Qualifications

• 812+ years in communications, PR, or public affairs within technology and regulated industries (fintech, payments, govtech, healthcare, or similar).
• Both strategic and handson executioncomfortable setting narrative strategy and writing press releases, memos, LinkedIn posts, and other formats.
• Fluent in mission and business, connecting story to human impact and to revenue, growth, and risk.
• Calm and thoughtful in politically charged and highscrutiny contexts, able to calibrate tone and timing.
• Lowego collaborator who works well with Legal, Regulatory, Marketing, and the Csuite, navigating nuance while driving clear decisions.
• Foundermental builderenergized by creating a small, focused function with smart constraints.
• Excellent writer and editor with a portfolio across formats that demonstrates clarity, precision, and editorial instinct.
