RTI International is seeking part-time field interviewers on the National Longitudinal Study of Youth 2027.

The NLSY27 is an ongoing survey designed to gather longitudinal data on how the experiences of young individuals in home, school, and work environments influence their development. For many years, the National Longitudinal Surveys of Youth have been recognized as a premier resource for examining the progression of youth from education into employment, and subsequently adulthood.

Beginning in 2027, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will recruit a new, nationally representative sample of youth aged 11 to 16 to participate in the NLSY. Those selected for the NLSY27 cohort will serve as representatives of contemporary youth, contributing valuable insights that will inform future research and policy.

RTI is preparing to conduct a pretest between April 2026 and July 2026, aimed at evaluating data collection tools and methodologies across all modes intended for use in Round 1 of data gathering with both NLSY27 youth and their parents or caregivers. This pretest will also assess systems and hardware supporting case management, survey procedures and protocols, outreach and recruitment strategies, and respondent materials.
