Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for providing trusted leadership and oversight of all human resources functions. This position ensures the effective management of recruitment, employee relations, compliance, compensation, training, and organizational development. The Director partners with senior leadership to align human resources strategies with organizational objectives and foster a professional, engaged, and compliant workplace culture. The Director of Human Resources reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee Human Resource operations, including HR systems, reporting, and process improvements.
  • Provide strategic direction for HR initiatives in support of organizational goals.
  • Facilitate effective organizational communication and responsive customer service in order to connect employees to benefits, services and plans.
  • Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention programs to ensure a strong workforce pipeline.
  • Promote employee engagement and oversee employee relations matters.
  • Manage compensation, benefits, and ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, training programs, and leadership development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR. SPHR, or CHHR strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience (hospital and or healthcare preferred), including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in supervising and developing staff
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices, federal and state employment laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in HR and business information systems, ability to analyze data, produce HR and financial reports, and present data to staff and leadership
  • Expertise in project management, critical decision making, and process improvement
  • Must demonstrate outstanding judgment, exercise high level of discretion, and exhibit sensitivity and empathy to others
  • Proven ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and lead organizational change initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • The position will require sitting and standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, fine motor skills using hands, fingers with dexterity for typing and other office tasks
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to speak in small and large group settings
  • This position could be exposed to moderate noise levels, frequent phone conversations, and requires average to above average hearing and visual acuity
  • Most of the duties performed in this position will be performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment
  • Must be able to travel to other locations as needed
