Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist 2 Job Description Inova Health System is looking for a dedicated Clinical Doc Integrity Spec 2 to join the team. This role is full-time, day shift: Monday – Friday. This position is eligible for remote work for candidates residing in the following states: VA, MD, DC, DE, FL, GA, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, WV. Job Responsibilities: Perform initial and follow-up case reviews based on program standards, using clinical judgment to assess documentation quality and develop complex queries. Follow up with physicians for clarification via the query process. Maintain performance metrics such as query rate, response rate, and agreement rate. Assist with reviewing records across Inova hospitals under CDI leadership supervision. Participate in CDI, coding education on ICD-10, MS-DRG, quality measures, and compliance. Utilize CDI applications effectively to process work lists and report review and query results. Enter data to support coding decisions, demonstrating expertise in ICD-10, MS-DRG, and APR-DRG coding. Collaborate with coding professionals on queries and final coding, including post-discharge queries. Provide provider education on documentation standards and query processes. Participate in special projects, audits, and staff training, possibly traveling within the DC metro area. Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree (RN, MD, RHIA/RHIT) Five years of inpatient acute care or related experience, including ICU, ER, Peds/NICU, case management, or quality care. Two years of CDI experience in an inpatient setting. CDI certification (CCDS or CDIP); preferred CCDS. RN, RHIT, or equivalent medical licensure.
