Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist- 2nd Level Reviewer- Remote Join to apply for the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist- 2nd Level Reviewer- Remote role at Guidehouse The CDI Specialist- 2nd Level Reviewer is responsible for comprehensive secondary clinical chart reviews, identifying documentation gaps, acting as a liaison between coding and CDI, and collaborating with clinicians to improve documentation quality. This position requires analyzing clinical data, resolving discrepancies, and educating staff to ensure documentation accurately reflects patient severity and complies with regulatory standards. The role is fully remote. Responsibilities include: Performing secondary reviews of clinical cases, including DRG discrepancies and mortality documentation. Collaborating with coding and clinical teams to reconcile documentation issues. Querying providers for clarification and providing education based on review findings. Tracking review outcomes and sharing insights with the CDI team. Engaging with clinicians to enhance understanding of documentation importance. Qualifications: Graduation from accredited nursing, medical school, or health-related field. Current license as RN, MD, or credentialed medical coder (CCS, RHIA, RHIT) with CDIP or CCDS. 4-6 years of relevant experience in clinical documentation, CDI review, or coding quality review. Ability to analyze clinical data and communicate effectively. Preferred: CCDS or CDIP certification. Experience with Vizient, Optum CAC, encoder, and DRG assignments. Strong clinical and critical thinking skills. Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $80,000 - $133,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
